let me pet the cats too and honestly i'm just gonna segway this whole suggestion into letting us have pets eventually.

petting dog = dopamine

petting cat = dopamine

purring cat = even more dopamine

seeing a cute borking dog or a meowing cat and being able to pet them = immersive. i bet you want to pet your neighbors' dogs or cats irl too.
