I'm a big fan of MGS, but this isn't really a MGS game except for the start.
Despite these videos Steam has mostly positive reviews.

What do you guys think? Have any of you bought it or played it? Is it worth buying or sinking time into?

I think people are mostly just angry at the fact that the game is a deviation of how metal gear solid games were supposed to be (while they aren't really restricted anyways, look at mgr) and also on the thing that hideo kojima left the company.

Nevertheless, I think the trailers at first gave people a bad impression but I heard the gameplay is quite ok. However, I rather it not be associated or canon with the mgs games though. Idk, I think people who rarely plays the mgs series or doesn't know much about mgs series would enjoy this more.

I haven't bought it and I dont plan to, gameplay videos will just have to do it for me.

Shouldn't have branded it MGS, but the mechanics and gameplay seems decent. If only it weren't fucking sticks only I wouldn't mind it. If it had guns, perhaps I could like it. Shouldn't have branded it MGS though.

i love mgs but survive is really disappointing

the whole hold your position and defend thing is boring and most of the time you just sprint around the map, gathering resources, killing wanderers, bombers w/e before running out of stamina and try to get back to the objective without any real danger

it would have been a better idea to make a game to end the metal gear series by having the end be snakes death or w/e, be able to play as ocelot

personally, I'd give it a 6 out of 10

that was MGS4, yet people wanted more more in the series and then MGS:GZ and MGSV were created as prequels.

besides it's kind of hard to expand on what 4 left, especially since the vague details don't expand enough to make another game (plus the protagonist would be in a wheelchair from age in six months from where it ended)
