I did a really fun scavenge build where I have the best perks and just my fists and scavenger perk too so I can just loot of my enemies, it simulates the true life of a peasant

30-40 fps on ultra, 60+ on custom with occasional fps drops, but it ain't that bad

thats when you use spacing
back up just out of their range, then pounce on them
or if your feeling cocky, bait them into doing a horizontal swing and duck it, swinging as you come up out of the crouch
