Harsher enforcement on minges instead of just going “they’re new”

if they’re new teach them how to rp and give them tips, @staff. Don’t just let them roam until they get bored and punch me and make it an unimpressive experience being on the server.

Also harsher rules on the throwaways, I know some big name got banned recently but characters who’re made by retards and continually go “hahahahaha I’m making dev and conflict” are the same aspies who don’t take account that no, it isn’t conflict and isn’t different from the 80 people my char has encountered doing the exact same boring spiel that I’ve just began to ignore now

I enjoy as few screens as possible, so hunger and thirst meters hanging out in the corner are sometimes a little distracting. For me, most of my immersion comes down to a well-executed map crammed with the little details that really count; good lighting with the little dust motes, effective use of ambient sound, etc. The small details to back up the big brush strokes are what helps me root my character in their world. C8 is getting a little tired at this point, but it's got those small details in spades. C24 had them too.

Not knowing anyone's OOC persona. The only people you'd know were people you knew from outside it. People would keep their forum and ts names sst to their main character, and when they died they could easily disappear. Anonymity is really important to maintain, especially for old vet rpers who can be very cynical about things.

Also using LOOC was really frowned upon. People pmd each other above all else.

This was SAMP BTW.

This only works if they get reported tbh given its surprisingly easy to miss them unless they are. A lot of people just let them run around thinking they're funny and then invariably are the reason they get banned when they start throwing hands.

Plus in my experience I've seen and been told directly by some of them that more people just quit when you try and put them in a box to teach them than just letting them experience things. Spending 10-20 mins trying to teach someone only to have them DC made me want to fucking rip my hair out.

can I just say it never bothers me I don’t know why it bothers you it doesn’t frustrate me because for every 9 that leaves 1 stays and plays and remembers you

it’s a nice feeling

Animations, for me personally. HL2RP and the like are between this "grey area" between full-on text-based RPs and full-on action-based RPs. Though for HL2RP and the similar ones, actions/animations usually augment text-based actions (but overruled with stuff like s2k). Being able to actually sit instead of having to +duck and crouch onto something, for example looks better and adds another layer of immersion.
