and they're powerhungry cunts who want everyone to bow and worship them
cracks knuckles
Alright you fat gray skinned lizard boot wearing robe donning spell casting racist looking ass motherfucker i'm here to lecture you on the nature of the Daedra.
The Daedra suffer from a big case of blue/orange morality, and are often misunderstood by most scholars in both Tamriel and even players of the vidya. They aren't evil (although some are power hungry, and some are cunts).
When thinking about Daedra, you need to think less about individuality and traditional gods and think more about them being an embodiment of their sphere. They are their sphere, essentially. Molag Bal
is domination, Meherunes Dagon
is change, etc. Saying that, for example, Molag Bal is evil because he dominates souls and rapes is like saying a bear is evil for hunting and eating salmon. They are an integral part of the universe and the strings they pull have great effects on the world.
And even if you wanna define them as evil because of their sphere, I'll point you to the fact that most Daedra Princes' sphere aren't bad at all, or if they are, they can be interpreted as a good thing if you aren't a complete numbskull.
As for the bow and worship part, that's simply untrue. Or well, it's a gross over simplification that only really applies to Molag Bal, Clavicus, Azura or Meridia (two of which are considered by most people as ''good'' Daedra).
Most Daedric Princes need followers because they cannot influence Nirn directly (which is a good thing, don't get me wrong) and thus need followers to exert the influence of their sphere, and also because they find messing with mortals and watching it play out fun or amusing. In that way, their motive is more Lovecraftian: They don't need to mess with mortals considering how beneath them we are, but they enjoy doing it anyway to watch us run around like headless chickens.
But also consider that most Daedric Princes don't even want followes, at least not actively. Sheogorath doesn't actively look for followers, he just takes in people who are insane cause that's what he does, and even then there's probably still a few madness induced people around with no ties to Sheogorath whatsoever.
In conclusion, you're an ill informed elven noob who doesn't understand the nature of the Daedra nor how their spheres can be a positive influence.
