There is currently a reddit post available with instructions on how to access the "beta" (quoted because it's not official).

I think it looks awful. Mixture of GOG and some kind of bookstore app. More useless features and bloat.

They took the wrong direction, in my opinion
I much preferred the flat chat design and still can't get over the awful, buggy friends list, I preferred the old one
Sure, sending pictures through chat is cool but the rest just looks bad

doesn't fit well with the base client though- looks a bit out of place, so i hope the base client gets a revamp with this as well

can they just fix their shitty chat it’s so clunky, slow and buggy. blacks out half of the time in overlay and takes like a 2 second delay when you try to right click someone in your favourites list
