I'm not gonna lie, the vehicles being sold at the PDM right now are way too expensive for what they are. There is literally zero advantage to buying a car from the selection available instead of just stealing a car which is expontentially better in every single regard, other than the fact that it's a stolen car, nevermind that because it's so easy to lose the cops with the speeds they go which you would never be able to do with the one you'd own.

I mean I get it if you're wanting to play a fully legal character in which case you'd still not be able to afford them anyway because of how little money most of the jobs give.

Or if you want to have the convenience of being able to use the trunk storage which anyway is only 6 slot storage which isn't much and the feature of storing it in a garage, which I can't justify paying so much for.

I definitely think 'starter' cars/bikes should be cheaper with prices going up based on quality of the vehicle.

Like the rusty stuff and the old campervan and the robin, etc, they should all be relatively cheap with the reliant robin probably coming in at like 3k to permanently buy. Old/rusty cars should be cheap but be 'second hand' and the offset should be that they'd require 'fixing up' for them to be as good as the 'mid tier' of cars.

Mid tier of cars should probably clock in around 10-15k as it currently stands and any form of 'sports' vehicles should probably go around the 20k mark.

Our economy is definitely not vibrant enough or inflated enough for me to spend 35k on my news van when I can get it and roleplay my way outta any issues with it for 300.

Certain work vehicles like taxis and tow trucks should be affordable within your first day on the server imo. They’re shit cars that are mostly just for utility.

You start with enough money to either
A) buy a work car
Or
B) buy a gun.

The bicycles are definitely way overpriced for what they are.

Edit:

Tbh just take out the bicycle rental and make the price to buy the bike the same, or at most, double, of the current rental prices. They're bicycles.

I'm sorry, but this pricing for basic bicycles is genuinely absurd. I shouldn't have to be grinding several delivery runs just to afford a bike.

Race bike price are realistic, the basic ones could honestly use a reduction, like cheapest shitties bike should really just be worth 500

All prices are absurd
the only way to go from here is waiting for them to be adjusted then start figuring that part out and fine tuning it

I think the prices are scaled a little wrong. purchasing bicycles to own is about the same price as renting an entire sultan

I think the cars are fine, just the bicycle prices seem scuffed

Cars are fine and are realistic, but yeah bikes need changing, I think PDM should focus on utility vehicles and economy cars. Whereas dealerships in Rockford hills should shill more expensive cars for a luxury price and be player owned ;)

I don't doubt more dealerships are planned, but I suspect they'll be progressively introduced with bundles of cars that have their stats properly balanced. I think right now it's just some across the board handling mod they tossed in that needs some fine tuning over some actual months

Dunno bout you, but i can afford them cars.
So far the most profitable thing I've seen is the chop shop clocking in at max almost 1k per car, I'd still have to do it 35 times to get my van. While it's certainly possible, the time investment is astronomical, and given that it's a 1 person job, it'd mean I'd have to be devoid of any interaction with other players for hours on end.

Just stand around as EMS and make bank :)

While I have an EMS character, I cannot yet purchase neither an old ass victorian car or a 19th century galleon so I have no interest in vehicles for him at the moment.

tbh, nor do I. Since being terminally online allows me to just use EMS Vehicles to get around :)

Let's be honest nobody will ever buy these 'starter' cars at the current pricing because you can simply get a lockpick for $300 and steal an actually good car

Even if they removed all the supercars I would still steal shitty cars over buying shitty cars because why would I spend 3 day's grind of a rusty shitbox

Man you want people to grind for 3 days straight to buy a shit car but people want a mid-good car for that time investment

On NP I can grind 100k per day if I nolife it and that gets you a decent starter racing car. Let's say if you really nolife it in 10 days you can get 1mil and get a low-tier tuner shop car

I'd definitely pay like 10-15k for my news van, considering I'm gonna have to pay to have it sprayed with my news thing and then I'm gonna have to pay for upkeep and repairs, plus if there's any improvements that can be made, better tires, suspension, etc, then that's just going to drive the final price even higher but the base price should definitely be scaled down if they wanna be useable.

7-12k for a news van is not too bad. I feel like that's a fair price.
