Speak to the blacksmith in Firelink Shrine, there you can use Titanite Shards to upgrade your weapon (the "Reinforce weapon" option)

sigma males actively abuse tears of denial, minimize close situations.
he needs not backstab for the poise damage is enough to deal damage three times the stab.
he uses the greatbow not to snipe people, but to throw them off bridges.
and the sigma male never bows.​
