say in the event that this civilian occupation dynamic doesn’t work, are there intentions to run with a traditional nato vs soviet dynamic as in ‘old’ ww3rp, or will it stay as this new system of things?

I'd rather not refer to it as a civilian occupation setting, because it technically isn't.
It's something we did discuss seeing as we anticipated some people to throw the usual 'bro I just want to s2k in a semi serious setting'.

It's always a big risk to go about something with a new concept/approach, so there's defo a chance that it'll turn out bad over the long term, however I've no interest personally to do another 2 faction patrol-combat type server so I dunno how that'd play out. Without much speculation I'd reckon people could always get someone else to run it if it's a realistic option of bringing back.

soviets being predominantly russian, stasi being german and most citizens being german, how will communication work? individual interpreters for the soviets, or will they have to simply put up with the barrier

p sure roosebud mentioned something about maybe needing interpreters in squads and patrols etc to communicate between russians and germans

I elaborated on this a couple pages back, might include it into the FAQ thread as well

unless @char wants to suddenly reunify germany, I'd give that a clear no
not sure on how it is now, but when i had german characters i considered germany and that somewhat of free france in the way it’s a government-in-exile, so the Bundeswehr and auxiliary forces are connected to NATO and elligle for NJSOC (also u forget the BND) but as for KSK i can’t see it existing, no

what's the deal with nato survivors? do they get pk if they're caught by soviet or is there an ooc protection against them being killed like that?
