i get it, when having pvp toggled off using bombs to destroy player stuff should be considered pvp

is what it is and that's why it's just enabled now

leave it to the American to start making a competition out of a zombie survival game

no in fact, I did not purchase and play Project Zomboid to deal with the issues of cunts killing people and destroying their shit

I go into multiplayer looking to survive the apocalypse together, not re-enact the shittier parts of the Walking Dead
This, Hell this is why we predominantly stayed within our little community, to allow everyone else do their thing but allow us to enjoy surviving together here.

Isn't part of the apocalypse that you literally cannot trust a singular person? That trust is one of the highest-held regards between people, that earning it and having it is an extreme rarity?
It's on a PvP server, so...

Last thing im gonna say man. It wasn't the fact they pvp'd it was the fact that what they were able to do NOT in pvp mode. So Postal had no way of knowing their ill-content as to pvp you need a skull and crossbone next to your name which they did not. But Jaydawg and Alex as fixed this now.

no, it is not. in some fiction yes that is something an author focuses on, but it is not something I am interested in. I'm playing games to avoid strife and conflict, not to seek it

World War Z (the book)
Terminator
Half-Life 2 (the actual game, not the shitty rendition portrayed in Roleplay)
Day After Tomorrow
Most of the George Romero zombie films
Left 4 Dead
The better issues of the CROSSED series

all of these post-apocalyptic scenarios has humanity mostly unified against the common foe, and they are the settings I prefer

the zombies are the antagonist of Project Zomboid, there is genuinely no reason to be hostile to your fellow man in this game, there is more than enough to go around

'the apocalypse isn't about being unable to trust other people because... i said so'
???
There's no reason to be hostile to players in DayZ, yet people are
There's no reason to shoot pscavs in Tarkov as a scav yourself, yet people do it anyways (even when you're penalized!)

part of these games is the fear of the unknown, and that unknown very vastly extends to players
it's why factions exist, it's why the PvP is on
In fact, this post just keeps blowing my mind with your thought process

You are literally living in the apocalypse. You are literally at the threat of being eaten alive. You are - quite literally - living in the zombie apocalypse, where most of the things you see walking around are attempting to kill you and eat you. You are literally playing on a PvP server.

If you want a hugbox, go play CDDA and just close the game each time you die, so that you can just reload your last save.

"the apocalypse is about being unable to trust people because I said so"

the apocalypse is not a single thing. i prefer apocalypses that do not play upon elements of the human condition, I deal with it enough in real life

There's no reason to be hostile to players in DayZ, yet people are
There's no reason to shoot pscavs in Tarkov as a scav yourself, yet people do it anyways (even when you're penalized!)

I play neither of these games for this exact reason

part of these games is the fear of the unknown, and that unknown very vastly extends to players

I disagree. the fear of the unknown applies to whats behind the bathroom door, 1 zombie or 30, but not "will john the guy who's been helping me for the past 12 hours suddenly club my head in with an axe," that's just not the level of paranoia I want inflicted upon me

it's why factions exist, it's why the PvP is on

I disagree. factions are great for identification, not for race wars. PvP has been mostly used in my experience for mercy killing infected players, as @aperson and @Hunk and @TwistedSilicon can attest to when they played with me

In fact, this post just keeps blowing my mind with your thought process

I'm sorry you cant comprehend that people can have different wants from a game that is able to provide those wants

You are literally living in the apocalypse. You are literally at the threat of being eaten alive. You are - quite literally - living in the zombie apocalypse, where most of the things you see walking around are attempting to kill you and eat you. You are literally playing on a PvP server.

yeah, us being in the apocalypse is a great reason to work together, not be at each other's throats.

If you want a hugbox, go play CDDA and just close the game each time you die, so that you can just reload your last save.

this is unneeded
