most people i know started out rp on things like samp and i'd argue that samp communities (whilst incredibly foreign) have a much nicer playerbase than hl2rp

it's a more mainstream roleplay experience as opposed to hl2rp and so you'll get a more diverse range of people so of course the bad ones will shine out more, you've still got a much larger playerbase to take into account

I used to know the community manager of one of the biggest SA-RP servers before GTA V rolled around and he admitted to me in private that actually managing a playerbase of 300+ people is almost impossible with most staff teams. Most of the time unless you do anything massive that draws attention or something that will be picked up, the likelihood of them being able to devote any actual time to you or your issue is incredibly slim.

That's also partially why they're usually so hesitant to do anything about members of the staff team unless they do shit that can't be ignored - finding replacements who can handle the strain of so many players is difficult.

I was new w/ only my rinky dink carbine repeater that did piss damage, got bullied by advanced lasso fags and 4 man posses and now I’m a rolling block chad with sharpshooter 2 (saving money for 3) and I will decimate dudes who aggro me by killing me for no reason for 20 minutes I am that much of a neet but god does it feel so good climbing up top from the lowest of the totem pole

I promise I only use the rolling block for good only to defend cattleman folk who just started and retard griefers

Been in an administration team at a high-rank within a french server running around 150 players on SA-RP. At this point, you had a system similar to work with time on duty and time off-duty, rest and rp. The most time you were putting in effort being on-duty and catchin' every report you had, the more you were rewarded by the server director with special tokens points or a higher rank which obviously grants you more power and abilities you can use for yourself. That thing was running like an usine would, and I sometime question myself about the fact I've decided to be in - because trust me, there were tons of retards in game and you easily had to treat 10 forum-reports per day.

(sidenote: the scariest ability you could have was not the no-clip system, but the command /spec that actually granted you the ability to see a person's char in third person with all (name, hp, weapons, IP, money, special tokens, lvl..) the informations about it, and you just had to use the left-click to switch over someone else. Sometime, you could litteraly be spied and there was no possibility from anyone to know if there was someone on spec among you or not - unlike the noclip which I found more free and less intrusive.)

Probably people like myself who aren't interested in yee-hawing & robbing. I imagine Saint Denis being the hotspot.
Lot is going to depend on how/which systems they implement.


Also, I got my rolling block last night and it's cool but honestly I prefer shooting the .22. It just makes a satisfying sound that soothes my soul.
