I am not sure it's possible, as in, I think it's possible to give people access to a post but not specific replies, but I don't think there's a way to automate the process to give people access to their personal OPs and nothing else.

Digging up a post that is not even a year old from the current iteration is not comparable to being able to access posts from 2016 when we weren't even a shadow of our current selves and so many did stuff they're not proud of (or it wasn't bad in the first place but toxic circlejerks used it to laugh at them and those people may even still be around).

This is not a "maybe", this is someone will make fun of someone for sure, there's no doubt about it, and sadly it's a heavy understatement.

You just wrong there pal, people get made fun of, insulted and outright chastised for posts in Current Affairs from years ago, introductions are irrelevant. To give you an example, Aether still gets shat on over some "kill the old people" shit, and much more.

I absolutely do. There was some absolutely abhorrent behavior that used to be so common lol.

Never mind that a lot of people were were much younger (perhaps literal children) and that innocence and naivete might be mocked.

This feels just like when I had to delete some cool Vort graffiti I placed on rp_apoc because it was made from some guy in WN and @Señor Jaggles said WN could pursue legal action

You've seen we do have the evidence of people acting like this and it's a recurring issue, one we don't really have full control over it as people will be cunts on VC, circlejerk and isolate others, make "memes", or outright insult others

Plus this reason is not something I've pulled out of my ass, it has already been mentioned in previous threads like this

It was said already in the past in a similar thread but those archives would expose very old shit, from people who did a lot of cringe stuff, including most likely everyone.

Whilst I am sure many will not, others will use this as a way to stir shit, provoke or insult others, and so on, so on.

Of course, we can always punish those who deliberately shit on others, make """"memes"""" (a way to shit on others posing it as a "joke"), and such, but we can't control Steam, Discords, and other means of communication, and we've had issues of private Discords (for instance) where people metagamed, shat on other players, circlejerked pretty hard and that general toxicity always poured onto the ingame experience, decisions made by players, forum posts and "memes, and more.

Reality is, even if you are not who you were even a year ago, some will find a way to use it to offend and hurt others, circlejerk against them, create stigmas and bully people.

It's not slight and you know it well. You guys like to make issues disappear when it's convenient for you as if the community wasn't infested in the past with circlejerks and toxic people taking advantage of all the available stuff there was to bully, laugh and chastise others, and not just in the forums - but ingame, taking personal grudges into the roleplay even, or isolating people, and more.

It's not "a bit silly" just because you think it is so, this hyperfocus on the archive opening will serve for like 5 people to have a nostalgia trip and many others to get shit on people they don't like or similar stuff as it has happened in the past for years.

A "slight risk" doesn't even come near it.
