Suggestion:
Balancing update to the MP7 to reduce it's overall strength.
(+ Alternative arsenal options for civil protection/ OTA, or let them use recovered gear)

Why it would be worth adding:
The MP7 has become something of a dominant weapon in the server combat at the moment for whoever can get their hands on it.
Generally I've not too much issue with it. the gun does feel quite fun to use, but it has in a few ways really pushed out much of the wider arsenal of weapons in the server with things such as shotguns, rifles and other smgs getting passed on. Personally I'd want to see a greater variety brought back into use.

Things like the grease gun, PP-19, MP5K, have all generally fallen out of favour for the mp7, especially now that it's easy to stockpile ammo for in both factions.

Given MP7s are the primary weapon for late game CP players, I don't exactly want to leave them weaker, so I'd also like to press for an expansion to what weapons they can be supplied, potentially to bring in access to some of the weapon classes like the shotgun and rifle mentioned previously, or at minimum, access to recovered rebel gear.

Necessary content:

Pyromancer brain
Thoughts from more hardcore CP players too.

The MP7 is the most balanced gun on the server, filling in its 'jack of all trades' role.

Rebels pushing cops holding a choke and dying to the MP7's spray, doesn't warrant a nerf or removing it from combine/rebel arsenal.

Just because rebels push cops holding a choke and die to the MP7's spray doesn't warrant a nerf.
For me this was more brought on from my experience using it on my own character after trying a fair few other bits.
I suppose I can be spammed with funny emotes if people really want, but I am legitimately curious here.

What is the issue with the MP7 exactly is the damage too high? is the range to good? Recoil not strong enough?

I don't really disagree with the first two replies to this one, it's got a lot of general application, don't think there's been a situation where it wasn't a great pick. Although more or less everyone owns one now days, which to me is a shame.

Hell, may well be one that resolves itself when ammo is not so easily given out again.

Yeah, uh.

Once the slew of AR2-competitive ARs on the rebel side has been similarly nerfed, we can talk about dialing in the one viable option the general CP faction has available.

I think the MP7 is perfectly balanced because at range pretty much any rifle outguns it because it's really hard to land multiple follow-up shots at range with it (and tap firing with it at longer ranges feels like you're literally useless), close quarters it does exactly what it should be doing and tbh takes a LOT of shots to actually kill if you're not hitting the head (the firerate helps here but still gives plenty of time for the person taking the shots not to die if they're only getting body shot)

It's not so good that it's the go-to pick every time, it's just really good at what it's supposed to do (and the ammo is literally infinite so there's never a reason to use any other gun that does the same job as the MP7 like the MP5 or whatever other SMGs are around)

It makes sense now why you emptied your magazines and threw away your last mp7, it was this thread!

MP7's are everywhere because it's what your main opposition (Combine) will use 9 times out of 10. Other guns are used less often because the only supply is either people crafting them or getting them through some trader joe, and likewise because MP7's are everywhere, people can stockpile a bunch of the ammo too - knowing someone's going to need it one way or another.

Ultimately it feels good, it's not great at range against AK's, Rifles and other long range options.

In close range, it's equal to that of the other Sub machine guns, but the 40 round magazine is more forgiving. Though I do like using the MP5k too (because it takes up very little space)
