I'm looking forward to this server, I've tried many RP servers on project zomboid in the past but they usually fall through because of how large the map is and how small the player base is.
I think it would be a good idea if a certain part of the town, such as an apartment blocks is transformed into a sort of "Safe Zone" that will house a large number of the playerbase and will keep them close at hand to perform passive RP and such, there could be guards, a clinic and even possibly a market area for players to trade. Of course players would be free to leave and search for goods and set up their own bases but this would act as a sort of centralised hub of RP. Imagine it as "Alexandria" from 'The Walking Dead'.
Of course the area would need a decent amount of protection from the undead which would keep the guards busy killing off the zeds and performing maintenance on the defences, could also be a decent area for admins to run events from.

I strongly believe that the ability to burn safehouses down with molotovs is a horrible idea, someone could spend literally hours working on their base and getting everything together (and if hydrocraft is implemented it will take hours/days) just for some nob-sack to come along and throw a molotov at it to burn it all down.

Molotovs aint shit when you smash an aerosol bomb through a :heyzeus:'s window
[doublepost=1466613735][/doublepost]Let's share our plans.

I'm going to occupy a two-story house. Destroy the stairs and add a rope. Start a bar and sell my services as a guard for retarded museums and whatnot

this is gonna be fun

This is exactly whats great about it, if you had a decently sized apartment blocks surrounded by log walls and defences, you could have an entire town in one building.

While I agree on the part that we should have a hub for people to trade and generaly RP in, I think we need to leave it to the players to create one, Imagne gathering up 5-10 peoplewho belive that we should have a safe home for everyone and start constructing the base in a school for instance, there will be difficulties and even deaths in the way but thats the magic about this, it gives them purpose to continue building up that base instead of survivng on their own inside a boarded house.

Edit: Also welcome to NC!

The hub can be fucked when jackasses lure huge hordes towards it using guns, explosives and alarmclocks

yeah

Not to mention our Crate full of fucking Shotguns and Assault Rifles....ended up taking one from the crate and shooting at all the Zombies that came into our armoury while I was set on fire...definitely went out in a Blaze of Glory to say the least

Oh the building and gathering is the best part, I just suggest some sort of event to help spark everyone coming to one area such as an army broadcast.etc
Thankfully with that amount of people getting the materials wouldn't be difficult at all

I'm actually really hyped for the creative mode update

I was thinking we'd build the safe zone as the spawn, but it'd be kind of an empty shell from the start, and players would have to work together in events to build it up and add new features if they wanted too.

People should actually come together themselves to set up a base. Players should spawn in random locations imho

That'd end up with nobody find each other. Our plan is to spawn in this zone with information about the server and a small town, you can leave and go make your own group, or even your own better town and set up trading with the other towns.

It sounds good in words but it just doesn't work on an actual server, the only way this would work would be people sat on teamspeak talking to eachother
