never did the one thing they were actually supposed to fucking do and instead just enjoyed shitting on everyone elses roleplay

god i fucking hate MP's

i remember my character being so fucking broken down from war literally everyone he ever made friends with had died or moved on so he was stuck with a bunch of (in his eyes) newbies, he witnessed war crimes galore, executions, torture, even had to endure it himself many a time

i’d always rp with pows on macmillan, because the mps never did it themselves. One time he pulled the pin off a grenade but held the spoon, went into the pow pit and started interrogating, threatening to let go because he had nothing to lose if he did

another time i remember capturing this person when they were left behind and i was the last one of my ft standing. i just sat there in the villa on stalker_snow with them, treating them like they were my friend because we had both been left behind. Of course I couldn’t understand them and vice versa, but it was nice and peaceful

The difference is because there isn't a parameter that you have to abide by to be """lore friendly""" you actually have agency. However, the counter thing to this is that HL2 is a bit better at telling personal character stories, and doing events.

real shit i don’t know how i came up with gemma price it’s even beyond me

but she was fun as fuck to play and i always enjoyed the rp aspect of her, hence why i made her a chef after the lore change because i knew she wouldn’t be infantry but st least she could still be on the base to rp with people

The ban of femchars was the best thing in this community's history across any server and across LemonPunch as well. You can't change my mind, and you can't disagree because you know I am 100% correct.

And tbqf, WW3 events were utter trash. It was much better when players made dumb bullshit happen.

I recall popping a bloodvessel trying to coordinate that one event where a coalition-globalist task force investigated METF activity in russia, recovered a drone, saved a village and infiltrated a base. It was one of the most enjoyable things I did despite the immense frustration of leading 10+ staff and a dozen event characters

The average WW3RP event, when compared to the average HL2RP event, was trash.

I did also say like not even a few posts before that I've spent most of my time the past few years on HL2, so it should be taken with a grain of salt, my man. In essence, you're not wrong.

Personal take, making WW3RP be west/east or capitalism/communism felt generic (though I have no alternatives) and the way I saw it, mostly-western playerbase was divided to "ew wimpy westerners" or "glorious communists uraa/banzai". It didn't feel like healthy competition at all, not to mention the division of S2K and RP or what was considered serious or unserious. I barely had RP with my main character on Coalition; the most extensive I got was some borderline rapey NCO trying to get on her good side.

Idk, maybe WW3RP just wasn't a gamemode for me.
