Can anyone give me a rundown of the basic lore?

The game it's based on
Simply put, augmentations for human bodies have been made possible in the near future to enchance your body; whether is it arms, legs, eyes, anything pretty much. Industry is making a killing, but there's lots of controversy and civil unrest since of the anti-augs "loyalists"; sometimes terrorist organizations

Human augmentation for medical purposes sees huge progress with technological innovation (by a man called Hugh Darrow). Amputees and people with need for medical augmentations can finally live a normal life, but obviously the tech can offer more than just basic function. Biotech and bionic firms spring up and grow (centrally Sarif and Tai Yong Medical), resulting in rapid progress offering mechanical and neurological augmentation for amputees, voluntary citizens, and military defense contracts (often with DARPA). People start to opt in for augmentations that can enhance their own abilities such as better limbs, brain implants, and other cosmetic augments. This causes controversy from people who consider it 'playing god' or dangerous to tamper with the natural human body, for whatever reasons they may have.

Society begins to change as a result of augmentations - questions arise regarding natural competance versus the benefits of augmentation and how to stay ahead in industries. The morality of optional augmentation, forced augmentation, military augmentation, and how they affect the people around you is brought into question. The usual ethical dilemmas.

No, but the augmentations will be tiered, and can be replaced with better ones. We felt praxis was implemented solely for gameplay.

So... Is it comparable to Metal Gear Rising? I know it isn't the best comparison, but it's all I can relate it to.

If we're having Harvesters, Sarif Industries, Tai Yong Medical and Redline, then where is this city going to be on the world map?

Harvesters are based around Asia, Tai Yong Medical are for the most part based in Asia. Redline i imagine would be based in America, and of course Sarif industries are based in America.

Just kinda confused, correct me if i'm wrong on anything.
