try to make the following for practice for different props:
Chair
Book
Fridge
Household appliances
Table
Soda can
Bottle
Clock

if you plan on modeling for source, I would take a moment to study hl2 props, css props, and other games. It's good to have an idea of what you want your model to look like, what style it should have, etc.
