Weirdly this would technically be a prequel to the second game, based on the date.

But it'd be a sequel to the first so it probably sets up the second and how SHODAN ended up on the station.

Also yeah, this has been in the works a LONG time I think. I remember hearing rumours 5-6 years ago.
