Seeing all these posts about all the things that happened here feels so uncanny valley to me. I remembering hearing about the events happening and stuff but never took part in most of them. One of my fondest memories is helping run Zona though, that was such great fun, so much spooky stuff happening - a bastard for us to try and manage if I'm remembering correctly. Some of my best times were running those events and just generally staffing around and helping people out with stuff and little mini-stories.

Even though I never took part in many of these events outside of helping write/run them, I always look back on the server fondly, and reading through everything that happened like I'm reading about it again feels so incredibly nostalgic, now being set up to be a practicing therapist next year, and I still remember putting my occupation on this forum as "wannabe therapist" all those years ago. Its like a little memory capsule, and I miss HL2RP a lot in all honestly, I loved cityrp to death. Meant I didn't do much participating in events themselves, but I always loved chatting to people, and it gave me the RP itch that I needed. Will always love the memories of this place, wish I could properly revisit them. Wish I kept word docs of some of the biographies and rp documents I'd written oh so long ago!

PS: This made me go back through my forum convos and have a bit of a reminisce and yeah a group of me and other cops caught a fucking serial killer, that was such a cool piece of work, organic event that was done.

Nadine Haas / Nadine Richter

What started off as being my comedic relief character ended up being one of the most heart wrenching story arcs I had ever written. Shoutout to @deathwolf i think you and I actually got along for a while because of this character - before her you’d only known my reputation which wasn’t great but you managed to see the good in me at the time because of her.

Tl;dr of Nadine. 6’4 lanky ass German doctor with a cocaine, adderall and Xanax habit who married a former Rank Leader. Head of UM.

Eventually, for several reasons, fled to the outlands and joined Tridant. During Tridant she was a pretty revered figure who had fallen from the highest graces of Union society to a rebel who had to prove their trustworthiness.

Her story ended with her fleeing to the Alps, settling with her husband above the suppression field and having a baby.

Also Jason, my Senator character. Was a former OSI agent, Agent Purple, he was the one who killed Ravoux and was the only surviving operator of the coup.

He became a human experiment after a memory wipe. Had his arms and legs amputated and replaced with biotics. Worked in CWU and a black site. Then became Senator.

On Jason I had set up a spy network that regularly gave me access to Tridant radio communications, I had a personal radio link with Subeh’s character posing as an undercover Senator for the resistance. I had a text-doc at the time with key information gathered from the radio.
The information gained was a two-way-street. Jason wanted Tridant to be the dominant rebel faction because other factions carried out attacks in the city and so information was exchanged two-ways between Jason and Tridant to rat out other rebel groups plans for in-city attacks, locations, members.
I had built up an entire network of IC knowledge of every rebel group and their leaders as well as planned attacks.

Jason also initiated the overthrow of the party in power of the senate so he could gain further power in the MDIS.

I loved Jason as a character and I was extremely careful not to play him as OP or ruin fun for people with the information and power I had gained on that character. I don’t think a lot of people actually realised how influential and knowledgable that character was as I was under a LOT of OOC supervision from OSI leads, admins and CAB leadership at the time.

Also Caitlyn ‘River’ Pond. Still salty about her death fuck you fuck you fuck you (jk). But no. I always have a place in my heart for her.


These days I get out my creative writing lust by performing poetry I write with a group of friends at a local pub, it’s a weekly event on Tuesdays, and I cannot thank Neb enough for helping me expand my vocabulary and writing skills throughout the years.

Love you all, even those I’ve had bad blood with.

I was a big fan of Nadine Haas but the name Haas always threw me off Engel Haas' cousin.

I made Ronald Reagan as a follow up and no one nabbed me, which was a surprise.
If I still had the broadcast I'd post it, maybe someone does.

Lots of S2K, lots of RP and lots of fun. It was all balanced, for the first 3-4 maps at least. Then it got unbalanced in favour of more S2K, which, I personally liked but it came at the cost of turning away people that preferred RP and in turn, reduced the server's quality and playercount.

Waking up early in the morning to hop on neb and experience all sorts of things was a magical experience. It was like being thrown back to 2018.

I must admit though, I was modifying my game texture files and abusing console commands to gain advantage many, many times. One particular console command acted as a "radar" for me, so when a cop or transhuman came within my PC's render range (180 degree view from my PoV) it would tell me so, and I knew that they were near-by and that a chance for S2K to happen was increasing. Then I would "accidentally" stumble onto them and fight them lol.
