headstaff (alex) has already given the go ahead that he'll host pretty much anything so long as its popular with the players, and ANYONE but the current coders are developing for it

no one has stepped up to code for this

To be fair you could run it as a perma thing; that's exactly what this iteration of HL2 was pitched as.

You'd need coders but if the work was there, Alex wouldn't turn it down. HL2 just has the slot rn I guess.

What I meant is if Subeh wants to do his idea of a long term thing he can, since the offer of running servers wasn't just open to events ala Alplands or the Star Wars thing.

The best character I've ever made in my eyes was on TnB's TRP, a reprogrammed T-800 learning and growing in a way I just couldn't have done on a small scale event setup. I get why he'd be interested in
setting it up like he wants to.

this is what semi-permanent or episodic stuff does for me

i cannot bring myself to get attached to a character or story when i know it's going to end in a few days or a week and it doesn't matter if they'll come back in the next 'episode' or whatever, because it'll be the exact same thing

tnb's terminator rp was up for months and it never felt like it lacked intrigue and versatility. it was daily 'rule of cool' style fun with deeper shit intermixed and that's what everybody seemed to like; or, at very least, 30-50 (sometimes more) daily players kept coming back for more of it.
