i havent personally noticed much of everything else ur saying but i'd probably put it down to everybody being excited about the new gear meta, it'll settle down as time goes on
it was better during depot where everyone was equal but once we swapped to this map and the gear started settling and people formed their cliques it feels like its been getting a bit worse

I feel like rebels are sort of falling back into their old ways at least from my observations

My hopes were generally that the resistance would be more of a unified force, and seeing as how resistance is now the default for any new player the way people generally act is disappointing

The weird gear caste system is returning where a players worth is decided by what they are wearing and what weapons they have equipped. Every single character aside from one that I've made so far has been a bluesuit (the exception being a char with some medic BGs).

Rebels tend to ignore bluesuits, I've tried talking with them a bunch of times, base and away only to be met with a blank stare before they run off to look at a container, change their bodygroups or to interact with their clique, and maybe I haven't been around enough but I very rarely encounter actual character conversations (by that I mean that a majority of conversations are about gear or something of the sorts instead of discussions about the characters themselves)

Vorts were usually the go-to for these kinds of things but I've been treated the same by a few (AKA people treating vorts like rebels with built in guns, most are cool though)

My point is there is just no passive roleplay on that side, unless its to further their own goals, I constantly walk into the base just to see people standing around AFK and what few convos there are are people talking about guns or gear or their next planned excursion or complaints in looc

Earlier today there was a crate that people retrieved from some sort of event with ammunition and weapons and I saw a dude with a rifle and some weird blacksuit model barter for another gun and ammunition for like five minutes, the dude then whinged about it for the next thirty minutes on the radio begging for another gun (thankfully people told him to shut up but christ)

While that was going on, someone who I'm guessing was a LAMBDA event char based on their description was trying to roleplay on the radio, asking about another character, trying to create some roleplay and he didn't get a single response. A majority of these armoured rebels have a radio, there's a radio inside the base itself and I was like the only person who answered and asked about it further.

The only time they seem to activate is again when there's some sort of benefit or goal to them, or when there's some sort of conflict so they can go out and shoot

My point was that citizen RP was focused on passive RP and characters themselves in the previous iterations, I'm not sure what's going on in the Union side right now but when I used to play CP you used to get a lot of that when there was down-time too. There's just none of that on the rebel side

There is no race for gear, consequences for failure are pretty much null, I don't get why people still act like this
Yeah I got on my guy earlier and stumbled around legitimately lost - came across a group of like 4 rebels and asked for direction to where they were based

was just met with a "Uh something is around" and then they just ran around with no communication until a supply pick up was made, from where they then disappeared

No incentive was made to actually communicate or talk, even after I chased the dude and begged for a sliver of direction there was no response, just sprinting around

Before I pilfered the corpse of the young man I murdered and got some BGs, nobody talked to me whatsoever - its a serious thing lol

I don't even know where people are getting this insane gear from like AKs and rebreather suits considering we're so few days into this server

I been recommending blue suits to the heads to get sized up and it's gone well but I'm one out of the hundreds playing

Full disclosure I've turned people away from being healed if they're wack about it though. People will be like 'ay you got magic heal me' like no dude
Hopefully stuff planned now can alleviate some of the rebel downtime with passive

It's why my dr. char met his death, i genuinely got sick and tired of "quick heal me QUICK QUICK" mid fight like bruh, no fuck off.

It seems that a lot of people are too pre-occupied with being badass resistance fighters or getting scripts to remember to play an actual character at times

The only people who you can talk to are Vorts, other dudes who are on your level or a FEW of the guys in the crypto-leader roles

All others are a lost cause

literally, I've given directions to other/tried guiding but...

Even when geared up, some people feel like literal NPCs at times lol.

I forgot the Rebel base is where Andrew Tate hosts his Hustlers University Courses and Lectures.

Yeah, its fascinating.

Even when gear practically is free, people obsess over being badasses and killing combine over being characters like ???

originality is a town somewhere in Russia - and Interesting is the village down the road

I take a break from HL2RP and enjoy God's day of rest, only to come back and find out everybody has turned into a piece of shit loot hungry bastard.

I don't know, personally, I like to think I've been interacting with blue suits, I don't particularly discriminate. I somewhat break character to talk to them and familiarize them with the on-going situation. I try to keep a spare weapon on me in case I meet somebody, roleplay with them and establish them as a friend or something, but my character isn't the type to give away a weapon to a stranger. If somebody does something that falls in line with my character, I try to reward them.

time to name change and get rid of the doctor and have a nickname so nobody knows who to ask for medical help :)

i don't know why the default model is a bluesuit in what is pretty much now outlands rp.

if there was a way to start new characters with a set amount of tokens to buy BGs in spawn, that would fix a lot of 'suitism', since tokens have no other use

might sound like a dumb take and i completely agree with the bluesuit's plight, but start your own club. your own group. you can apply to be a group that can get gear weekly i think. if you dont care about it, just rp stuff

from what i've been hearing, maybe mingling with the rebels is a bad idea, since i'd rather hit my head against a wall

No other option than hiding in the cave or going out in a group

Either you are Gonarch food, CP food, OTA food or Eldritch Horror food

Yeah something like that would be nice

OR JUST MAKE BODYGROUPS A NON-PREMIUM FEATURE THAT WE CAN SET OURSELVES (not kevlar, helmets or gasmasks)

i havent played on the rebel side so idk but there's unoccupied buildings you can use, right? cops dont really go out very far during patrols and we're very limited when it comes to unprovoked sweeps.

There are no un-occupied buildings inside the rebel area

If you want something to yourself, you have to be out in the wilderness by yourself

Honestly?

When you spawn in, start with an item that you open that gives x amount of tokens so you can buy armor, basic equipment and shit from vendors in an OOC area.

Reminds me of a certain DayZ Stalker roleplay server

This is half true. At least from my stand point I've tried to actively help new characters gain a bit of traction by introducing them to myself and the characters I know - I also spent about an hour making a town with the hopes of making it a bustling rp hub for refugees rather then le cave rp where everyone just kinda sits around talking about how cool their ak is

Just to add to that. When I decided to kill off Atticus because of the way the rebels are going. When I wanted to go out fighting the Gonarch. I had four people following me waiting for me to die so they could grab my gear and when challenged they said "No lol" and continued to follow me so instead I lured the Combine from their cliff in hopes the fuckers died in the process.
This again is half-true - I actually had direct orders to kill you if you attempted to lure the Gonarch over to the resistance side. Fair enough you wanna kill of your character but twice you was bringing that pregnant monster over to us which led to myself getting killed as well, so the people were following you trying to stop you, not so much because they wanted your gear - but you didn't really pay attention to them that much either

Personally - to an extent I agree loot has become a massive focus point for any resistance guy, however we're fighting to survive on a constant basis, so it's difficult to deviate away from the main thing that's keeping you alive to focus on the more roleplay side of things in case you miss out on something that might save your ass one day.

If you had orders to kill me if I antagonised the thing, surely you'd kill me there and then whilst fighting it no? :o
