I can understand why when in the context of being in an APC next to a hill it got read as "put it up (on the hill)" tbh.

Turns out tonight's raid wasn't organized in conjunction with rebel cell leaders. The soul-drain has been mitigated knowing this was just down to mishap in organizing things.
If future raid announcements include whether rebel cells have signed up for it, e.g. Orsted, ARC, PMKO and somesuch agreeing to partake in the fight, it would do wonders.

Why would a staff member be giving OOC instructions to someone engaged in S2K though?

edit: To clarify, I am asking this in the context of why would Simman assume he was getting an OOC instruction on what to do during an active S2K situation rather than questioning it.

There have been times where someone has been PM'd Mid-S2K or firefight to move something somewhere else so its not unbalanced or they don't run into unrelated people and mow them down or whatever.

It doesn't happen often but it isn't entirely out there. I've seen it happen with mounted guns and vehicles.

I'm quite confused as to when the state of the server reached a point where freely available assets get toolgunned away mid-fight, despite the opposite side being given means to deal with it? It's happened previously, we've had APCs destroyed.
What confuses me even further is that it was allegedly in response to failure to obey a command:

I struggle to comprehend why such a command is issued in the first place by staff during a generic player vs. player engagement, but what's even weirder to me is the fact that, contrarily to my understanding of the command (to drive it up - higher - which I did, I drove it up a hill and when combat ended there I brought it back down), it meant to remove it from the fight?

i already explained to you why it was deleted in game, why are you trying to start more shit?

edit: to elaborate for shad, "put up" is an american term for "put away", his mistake for using the term on the widely european server but its entirely within his right as the event runner to ask the participants things OOCly (such as to put the APC away), and similar things have happened in the past with other things (the helicopter). i'm just confused why you would interpret the PM as him telling you to continue to fight? it'd be literal metagame for him to be like "GO UP TO THE HILL AND MURDER THE REBELS!!" instead of "hey can you put the APC away because you guys are 20v5'ing them??"

I'm not quite sure why you think a comment on the sudden (to my perception at least) spike in staff interventionism in player vs. player combat is seen as 'starting shit'. Your explanation gave me insight into what happened in the specific moment, but not what is happening in general.

staff intervention for agora raids have been a thing forever man, they're events ran by event runners. event runners are allowed to choose what is/isn't allowed in their event. balancing for the combine side is entirely necessary because if there isn't another side to fight because they're all demotivated because they keep getting lolAPC'd & lolhelicopter'd, what else are you gonna do?

British/English terminology to a non-native English speaker in Poland, simple as that.
Mountains out of an anthill, no need to keep this discussion going any further.

I'll take some time off from lamenting the usual s2k stuff to instead raise a point about something closer to my heart. The gallery of aliens - or rather, the lack thereof - to portray as player characters not limited to events and somesuch.
-Headcrabs are locked behind premium
-Antlions have that whole hive mind thing going that makes it difficult for me to RP
-All of Race X is no-go for the sake of narrative oomph whenever they're gonna appear
-Panthereyes/chumtoads/alien grunts are limited to admin/event characters due to their abilites or overall strength
-Anything fully aquatic is limited in every sense of the word
-Bullsquids have no process for whitelisting + lack of SWEP means admins possessing NPCs are ten times more immersive

The only options I see right now for myself are vortigaunt and houndeye. I already play a vort, and I still feel content with the heights of houndeyeRP I had back in early Helix, so I don't feel any pull towards that faction right now.
