TS is a more organized app for big communities. It’s permission system is also better than discord role system.

Can't really agree with that one.

I'm part of a few major communities that switched from TS to Discord and in my personal opinion, Discord works even better organisation wise. You have colors, roles, nearly the same permission system as TS- just more simplified- and you have a great overview on everything due to the neat UI.

Sure TS is more streamlined interface-wise, because you have everything in a plain white background with channels going down a tree and people are shown in a list (those connected) but Discord does a really decent job at giving you the same, even if it looks a little fancier.

No voice channel specific text chat and crappy voice quality is what killed it for me

From what I can tell, the fact that it's very easy to create accounts and/or servers make it much easier to coordinate harassment against another individual, at least from the stories I've heard.
Which sucks.

Funny now that you mention it, Discord has this weird Boosting feature where the audio quality only gets better when enough people actually favour your server for money. All the way up to 384kbps just to get better Opus voice.

Right, well I’ve yet to experience any of that.

Anyways, I’m sure the big discord debate has been long settled by now. There is a neb discord but it’s barely used and that’s unlikely to change

It's nothing too special, but I can't really agree on that the audio is apparently bad. I use it all the time alongside TS, and I barely feel the difference.
