Serious What is your dream serious roleplay server?

The Matrix.

• Limitless potential for settings/events/etc. It's all a simulation, anyways.
• Takes the best parts of WWC and strips the nonsensical.
• Intentionally hyperbolic combat.
• Themes about artificial intelligence, what is "real", living in a post-robot apocalypse.
• Program vs. Human conflict.
• Analogous to real-life/city roleplay.
• Everyone gets to dress weird.
• Slow-motion S2K.
• Two servers- one is the Matrix, one is the real world. Characters transfer in between freely.
• Characters that don't know they're in the Matrix and have to be unplugged, characters that were born in the real world, characters that are programs (not solely agents).

I've spouted for years about the potential of a Matrix RP and would probably spend another 10 years doing Gmod RP if someone launched one.

Bioshock rapture. I really like the lore in general and I think a RP server during or before the civil war would be pretty interesting. People slipping under the seemingly utopian lifestyle to make their big bucks underground with either Andrew Ryan or Frank Fontaine, I feel like it would hold a lot of potential imo

it would be interesting though. There are many Things in Stalker which People might find interesting such as Anomalies, Artefacts, Factions, Mutants and Location. But you are Right Gmod would pretty much ruin it

Even the best servers I've seen - and there have been some really good Stalker ones I've played on - fail because of the map size and lack of dynamic conflict. Or because Duty/Freedom become the lynchpin of faction conflict.

I've got a list of roleplaying games I'd love but know are not achievable in gmod, Stalker and Metro are the two at the top of that list.
Mostly because in my opinion, environments like those need multiple maps/ instances and be able to host a very large number of people. Both of those combined also means it needs to be a game that can sustain itself through systems rather than admins.

cyberpunk space colonisation is peak, outer worlds is onto something

I say cowboy bepop-esque not because of the space jazz noir vibe(although tthat would obviously be kkino), but because it is a very light sort of sci-fi, things are very recognisable and only slightly futuristic in terms of everyday items, like normal guns no lasers, clothes which are largely normal and so on

let the players form their groups and develop the story instead of being lead by a series of events.
