I'm in between Dead Money and Lonesome Road. Honest Hearts is the least one in my opinion while Old World Blues was nice

liked old world blues most as a little standalone dlc, had good humour and was not too bad to play as long as you leveled before going in, had a bunch of gear that was unique, effective but not OP.

Dead money is the worst imo, too linear, too restrictive and too punishing for minute things, was always frustrating to play and only recently did I complete it properly on the best ending, instead of tanking through with cheats on to get it over with.
had good characters, but level design and gameplay fucked it up.

Strap in for the comprehensive review

Honest Hearts
Real shit I actually really enjoyed Honest Hearts as my favorite of all of them, I actually loved the themes and morality that alot of it presented via the classic American tribal factions warring with each other over land that was sacred to them, really enjoyed alot of the enemies that presented fair challenge, such as the giant cazador or giant green geckos. Joshua Graham was a fantastic character which I loved to no end.

Dead Money
My least favorite of all DLCs, really linear and the collar beeping gave me tumors after the first few sections that made me navigate through the radio transmitter sections. I however, did love the theme that it presented of letting go, the accompanying soundtrack that it brought to the table with it's star piece was something of note too.

The love triangle background with Sinclair, Vera Keys, and Dean Domino was a bit that I thought went great with the theme of letting go that the entire DLC conveyed.

Old World Blues
I think that this is a DLC which you should honestly do last in a playthrough, playing through this makes you incredibly OP by the end of it. One part I thought was lacking in it, though, was the story. The entire DLC seemed to hinge on it's story seeming like a comic book over anything meaningful compared to the other DLCs. One thing I liked, however, were the little east eggs of Father Elijah actually exploring Big Mountain, it being where he had actually gotten the ideas of the Sierra Madre to begin with. The gameplay in it seemed alright, though fighting the robo scorpians got repetitive and they seemed like bullet sponges at times.

Lonesome Road
The story of Lonesome Road was something that I really liked, the mid sections of it, really seemed to drag however with the linear paths that force you to fight through the hordes of tunnelers which are total tanks and deal insane amounts of damage. The conclusion to the DLC, was my favorite part, giving you a very satisfying and heroic ending with the final duel that had been hyping the player up throughout all of the DLCs, portraying it as the beginning of the end where the two couriers fought for the fate of the Mojave.

build strength, endurance, and unarmed/melee and punch your way through the Mojave

My favorite DLC was OWB. Also I'd keep an eye on http://www.falloutthefrontier.com . Huge mod that could pass as DLC or even as a new game built on the same engine in a different location with the same factions, etc. Should finish this year. I've been looking forward for it for a long time now.

controversially, i think dead money is the best

it was the closest fallout has ever come to being a true survival rpg

It had neat concepts and a fantastic story and theme to it but it was bogged down from how linear it was. The ghost people were also repetitive and annoying as fuck to fight

the linearity appealed to my survival horror roots, a man of RE4 and such
and i found the ghost people refreshing from the usual fallout enemies, especially when forced to use shitty knives and pistols to deal with them, with very little health, needing to eat and drink and sleep to live

I recently went through Dead Money as a level 47 build who has melee and guns maxed out, even then I found that all ghost people were just complete sponges to any damage I gave to them, making the fighting drawn out incredibly.

I wouldn't have minded them personally, had there just been a bit more variety in what types of them you fight and maybe even mixing in a different kind of enemy all together, much like how Old World Blues has lobomites and roboscorpians as the main enemies you fight through it.

Right, well, I'll put my money where my mouth is, I hadn't played Honest Hearts yet, I have the DLC, I never really got around to playing it though. But I have played the other DLC's. My honest favorite was Lonesome Road...Honestly, the reason I love it can also be a negative. I feel this is best worth playing as a last mission before finishing the main questline, because the story is- from what I've seen- best suited towards that. The way it was made was to have a conclusive element to it.

Close second would have to be the Old World Blues, due to science geek within me, but I haven't played that as much as I had the first DLC I got, Dead Money. That...Well, I don''t mind the DLC, I don't mind getting gold bars to take back to the Mojave with me...Eh, I would think Honest Hearts would likely end up being better.
