Neb one died because toasty didn't want to lead. He legit became SD because he left then powley got into a crash and chester left so they begged him back.
I just remember seeing it slowly collapse when people started taking the piss and the staff team stopped caring after a while and just joined in themselves.

It was pretty sad since it started off well.

Somewhat unrelated but still worth mentioning is that, despite of some very incompetent leadership. A lot of staff did their best to keep the server alive by just pumping out events non-stop. But really, it was like keeping it on life support when Chester refused to change anything.

The gamemode relied on admins, and while that's not a problem by itself, the fact that the sever was open to anyone and had a considerable amount of slots (50 iirc), there was no way for most people to get RP outside of large events and passive rp. I am by no means bashing the admins who poured hours into making events for people that mostly didn't give a shit or reacted negatively to anything that put them at a risk.

Also, the fact that leads for factions such as mutants and milrems were non-existent didn't help either, forcing players such as @Dingo pretty much leading the milrems.

I think if FTRP or any post-apocalypse serious rp server is to survive it must be white-listed with no more than 30 slots.

I don't think there was a specific sets of reasons why FTRP failed all 3 times (4 if you count FTRP and QZRP as two different entities) but it was the very gamemode that was faulted: the maps were very open and people barely met outside of the designated hubs, scripts were mostly obtainable by finding them around rather than through rp means like shops or gifts which lead to people just running between the various spawn points around the map, scripts that were very important in the game, expecially weapons, since events consisted mostly of slaying horders of overpowered npcs (while on the other hand the npcs that saltuarily appeared on the map were frozen still due to the lack of proper nodegraph) and the risk of being robbed was incredibly high (I had a group authed on QZRP and we got robbed three times in an hour by the same gang who kept appealing to nlr. In the end we ran out of any supplies and had to disband the whole group while my character suicided), basically there was simply no motivation to roleplay at all. There was also a ton of other foundalmental problems, like the lore that kept getting more and more convoluted to accomodate new mechanics and groups, frundtech science division having to basically rp with each other or afk'ing waiting for other scientists or captured mutants to join (and don't even get me started on the whole "Scientists infiltrating survivors unprotected to patch up the lack of rp") or even beg people on OOC to switch to their frund chars and of course the X-Men tier mutants (how was called that meme guy with the power to run at sound speed?).

I enjoyed writing out an application, telling me I was accepted and only had to message the duder on discord, do that four-five times over the course of a month, get no response, PM him launch day and tell me whitelists full :D

You were the issue when you tried to be the main character and was upset when you came out publicly as a mutant and were surprised people wanted to kill you

what like make u the designated protagonist
@egg what was the deal with groups like the ALF being authed stuff
they got authed a single smg early on but had fuck all ammo

afk'd in their base and refused to leave

@rapidjuice assumed lead from softcat and made them do things and they snowballed in popularity and thus scripts

the rest is history

also knight there was never admin bias towards them from the majority of the staff team /SD

As a staff member i'd like to mainly point the finger at the shitty mutant lead who didn't tell anyone admins who had what powers, leading to dumb powers like Astro being the unkillable Hulk who levels up from PKing people. The people was also a big problem as many of them were simply in it for the scripts and would have done anything for them.

For once the staff, minus like maybe two people, weren't the issue. Most of the staff were doing events daily and keeping shit interesting but at the end most of us got fed up with the bullshit of peoples throwing hissyfits for dying fairly.
'haha i bite head you die now'
'do- does my- does my acid do anything, i spit acid, im a mutant'
'no i can manipulate flesh and bone = i am unkillable'
'oh ok can i run-'
'no im faster than you'
'can i drive away in my car'
'no i broke it with my omega strength'
'ok was there literally any way i could've won this'
'no'

dont think anyone had that

the mutant powers i can remember is

deadpool aka regeneration
eletrco-man
i had a mutant who could sniff u and tell if u were lying or not based on a roll
astro the hulk
batman detective vision

i dont know anyothers cause the mutant lead, despite being asked to, never made an admin mutant list
There was also 'The Slime' whom could turn himself into slime. An interesting one (and a mutation I also considered applying for, but seeing this made me not to), but I kind of feel like he bended the rules of injuryRP a bit too much. Pretty sure he was shot enough in normal, non-slime state to succumb to his wounds, but he just shrugged them off and retreated. Unless he slime-ified the wounds without explicitly RPing it before escaping.

One overall flaw I saw there was that a normal player couldn't have used /observer to get himself in and out of the scene so quickly, and without people from the distance spotting him solely due to OOC workarounds (aka entering and exiting the scene through the front door). It's one gripe I have about mutants in general; depending on their mutation, admin mutants (not event ones) can perform many things that couldn't be done OOCly by a normal mutant player (despite being ICly equally capable of doing it), such as transitioning from one place to another like The Slime did. I don't really know any proper solution to this, but it's just something that kept bothering me.

Mutant mismanagement was indeed quite a problem, both in-server and application side (if that wasn't obvious by now :v)

I enjoyed writing out an application, telling me I was accepted and only had to message the duder on discord, do that four-five times over the course of a month, get no response, PM him launch day and tell me whitelists full
I made an app during the time they were open, it was accepted in less than a day. But when it came time to talk about it in Discord (to work out the details in a real-time discussion, I presumed), nothing came of it. After two weeks since the apps had closed, I finally reached him (in-server PM stuff) and he told me roster is full. I was also told I'd be priority in the waiting line till apps opened again, but, well... server closed before that.

Which really bummed me out. I have never been able to properly RP a mutant power (couple of moments during QZRP, but they were minimal too), so having this opportunity denied was frustrating, to say the least.
There can't just be a single faction lead for mutants; it has a lot of work to it with many people wishing to apply for a mutant character, plus quality control might just need cross-referencing between two leads or more. One person's view of things reasonable and overpowered is highly subjective, plus it avoids the risk of favoritism more (at least I hope.)

What I don't get is why mutants need to all be different with whacky and bizarre powers

If you ask me, I'd just make all of the mutants have the same basic powers, and some can have variations and some differences without needing to go full incredibles on it

arizona liberation front, some really far right wing group that went to war with the los chicos blancos over control

admin bias was extremely in their favor the entire time
no actually they were intended to be a liberation force (hence the name i know that's hard to believe) that weren't far right but willing to kill people for the greater good; basically a few civilian casualties wouldn't get in the way of restoring the united states to its previous democratic state

but word of mouth made them seem as some big bad group antagonist

- the man that wrote the lore of the group

I once said that 'Everyone is the main character in their own story' and that characters on RP servers share traits similar to 'Main characters' being able to quickly bandage a wound and ignore the pain. People for some reason twisted that into me thinking my character was more important than everyone else.

I argued that it was strange that the military would go out of their way to headhunt a single 'lucid' mutant with a city full of bigger and badders ferals trying who were actively trying to kill them. I wasn't surprised that people wanted to kill my mutant, I just wanted to create RP and IC drama by doing it.

Somehow people can't separate IC and OOC intentions, just because a character does something stupid doesn't mean the player isn't aware of it being stupid.

Think whatever you want, but that's always what I meant.

Frankly I'm surprised that the FTRP staff is coming out of the woodwork just to bicker, you'd think they would be busy working on the Frundtech Cinematic Universe.
