one way u can sort of regulate it is to be a bit more heavy handed with ppl that make reckless decisions cus usually the people who make reckless decisions are the people being complained about here

people who r like this also have all the ic authority and power, we had people mistreat bluesuits and tell her to fuck off only to get shot

she's also like an event handler or admin, that Mother character is a poor roleplayer and mistreats bluesuits icly and tell them to go punch landmines

that's the only interaction ill get at times, getting disparaged 4 being blue

I agree, the sole issue isn't down to anything else except 'Mother' She's the reason we're suffering! We get rid of her the problems solved! Quick lads, Pitchforks and Torches, Burn the witch!

i am not sure how to fix the crazed loothungry bad apple problem since they're part of no faction. admins accommodate for players but regulating their roleplay style isn't easy because then I'm trying to wire into their fucking psyche

open to suggestions, but maybe people need to collectively reinforce those tropes out with their own chars ic/ooc

Working on that ic by dunking people with sarcasm and criticism for their actions.
Hoping to work with a group soon to improve a few things

Just a completely unrelated note, I've been on my zombie for about the past hour now and I can't get close enough to anyone without being shot from 3000m across the map. I want to RP my combat but can't. The only RP i've had in the past hour is RPing with the Gonarch taking down a straggler who wandered into what I'd consider her safezone for all things Xen.

I saw a speed zombie I thought was a player, so I let it get close to RP with it, but it turned out to be an NPC. It's hard to tell them apart.

Not calling out anyone in specific like. But sometimes i'll just be stood there browsing the spawn menu having a nice look at the music and then boom "YOU ARE DEAD".

I'm confident I hold the Death Count Record for the server.

first off, reason why i gave out stuff was because DINGUS passed out, told subeh to give me the crate loot
i tell people "make a line" and then give out to those in need
i thought someone lost their gun, didn't see it on their back so after realizing i gave someone with a shotgun another gun, i told him to give it to a bluesuit, yet you miss that part out....

I can't blame the people who play the silly one dimensional rebel/CP characters, at the end of the day. I used to do it too, a long time ago and I just felt kinda stuck? Like, always wanting to win the fights and come out the best possible way on a character - If you live it must mean you are winning right?

I wasn't particularly good, when I started trying to play more down-to-earth and realism based characters, but that was the point - it felt fun to not be good at it and learn as you go. I spent a lot of my time playing being perfect, and doing my best to not fail at any point

I used to not understand why standing around talking was fun to people, and even joked about it in passing at times - but I've come to realize that playing a truly realistic character is the hardest playstyle of them all. Doing you think is "natural" for a person to do in any situation requires a lot of restraint, and willingness to lose, despite knowing what to do to win

A loss can be a victory, which is what a lot of people don't realize. Doing something which is thoughtful and intriguing is more fun for me now, than having the biggest and baddest wolf in the herd of sheep

Grabbing myself by the back of the neck and dragging myself through something to shake up the old routine has made it fun again - I'm doing things I've never done, and made character-based commitments to actions I will have to take on the basis of who the character is

Shaking up the bag is something that needs to be encouraged, and I wish I could tell you how - I wish I did it sooner

the only reason mother gave out guns was because she was the one to crack the crate open and everybody listened to her when she told them to line up, shes well known as a player and not an event char so people knew full well they could've argued against her

several other ppl rped opening the crate and i either gave them the password or /itd'd the contents for them

it could've been jerry bluesuit that cracked it open or a million people that cracked it open, if they did the rp they got the pw

i just didnt want to leave it totally unlocked for obvious reasons

once they had the crate it was up to them to dispute ic who got what, i aint gonna control that ooc

if there was a way to start new characters with a set amount of tokens to buy BGs in spawn, that would fix a lot of 'suitism', since tokens have no other use

A truly great idea and I've forwarded it to Numbers. We'll look into possible solutions for such.

you also told bluesuits to go punch landmines 4 ur sick kicks or something weird

it was a bad first introduction to the rebels when i got there and when people got upset and there was a shootout you were very terse and hostile in looc

this is just gonna be a bitch-fight i dont care for, you alongside some other things kinda disappointed me from the rebel side of things, what @Mute vented about hostile or ignoring characters or 'I got mine' oocly acting dorks

it's the same players of yore so i didnt expect much to change

It's a hard knock life for zombies.
If you're anything except a fast zombie, you'll be shot from afar.
If you are a fast zombie, people can usually recognize you as a player even from a distance. However, people have very rarely had a chance to play with fast zombies. All I remember from previous iterations is that they were mainly for S2K (Slash 2 Kill?) or to chase off people that wandered into dangerous areas all by their lonesome.

I don't know whether other people have had similar experiences over the years, but it would seem just the sight of a fast zombie player running and leaping across the map just makes basically everybody think "Oh shit he's going to maul me without RP." Doesn't help that anything outside the bases is lowkey "Be ready to discard RP at a moment's notice to begin S2K" area, so people are on hair-trigger when they catch even a glimpse of someone not a rebel or vort.

I can only assume something similar would happen for anybody who played an antlion character in rp_depot, if such were to ever occur.

Cops should deffo hold a little restraint with blasting.

Even if they just do a /me s2k, it's better than just killing unarmed bluesuits and other roleplayers.

Though don't get me wrong, this ain't ww3rp. People on cops are very willing to roleplay, be it event enemies or going out for repairs. Just give them the chance to. Because "Rebel Snipers" are not engaging, they're just annoying.


Also sorry, fast zombies are difficult to identify lol
