lmao good luck not shaving during basic

You have to send in an application to be granted allowance to have one here, and from that point on you have 2 weeks to grow the desired beard (if approved). If unsatisfactory by NCOs once the two weeks have passed, you have to go clean shaven again.

Save yourself the trouble, just stick to being clean shaven. Makes getting rid of camo facepaint a lot quicker and easier, and it also helps not getting a mouthful of tear gas when you are doing CBRN training.
here you dont need to send anything in
just either clean or beard, no stubble or shit

which is why id rather rock beard, cuz mine grows ridiculously fast, so i NEED to shave twice a day to not have any stubble, and its thick as shit so it takes a lil while which i wont have the time for during basic

so fuck that

fucking what the army have restrictions on beard growing?
Any respectful military does or should

It looks like shit if not groomed and maintained properly, so more often than not forcing everyone to be clean shaven outside of small exceptions based on applications is a lot easier and better for uniformity

we got a guy who just came back from the sandbox who is completely bald (think skinhead) who has this, but way more groomed so it doesn't look homeless tier

another reason to not grow beards is that its another thing for enemies to grab onto if you happen to get into a hand to hand fight

your army doesn't allow 5 o clock shadows but does allow full lumberjack beards?

5 'o clock shadows look sleazy, unprofessional and lazy. People often got told to shave if they needed to. Some did it every morning and night, but that's just a part of it.

A properly maintained, well groomed and kept beard is perfectly acceptable. We had a guy who turned up to basic with a beard like the one I posted, but he didn't feel like maintaining it to the standard he was told so they removed it for him.

Really depends on the country.
Here, gay parade or the gay one day "festival" (there is no direct translation of the word for it), has been carefully crafted by the local LGBT chapter to cater to everyone, gay or not, having the constant push and slogan of including EVERYONE in the festivities, I've gone every year for the past 5 and it's always been great fun (the festival, not the parade), and this inclusiveness means that the majority of people you see there are not the BDSM stereotype, those are the exception, and it is also gladly funded by the local governing body, be it in the years it is controlled by the left wing or the right wing.

Then again, this is a city that never tried to have the "gay area", the gay bars, the gay clubs, the gay "spots" are in the exact same streets as all the other clubs, so it has been a very natural thing to mingle and party together.

The ad for this year was broadcast a bunch of times over the State ran tv and radio
The translation is "On the 22nd, Lisbon dresses in all colors to celebrate equality, 'Arraial Lisboa Pride 2019', from 4pm to 4am, there is a party at 'Terreiro do Paço'"

Which happens to be a really historically important location, for the country and not just LGBT movement, as well as the direct doorstep from a bunch of the Government's ministerial offices.

I have no doubt that the careful care to strive for REAL INCLUSION and just celebrating LIFE, is one of the main reasons this party hasn't had a single issue for the many years it has been done, never caused any troubles and has never been criticised by any political spectrum, from the communists to the conservative Christians, then again, the leader of the Conservative Christians for years in this country was a gay man, so it doesn't really surprise me that these issues I keep seeing elsewhere don't really happen here.

We might be poor and have a lot of issues, but at least we get along without having to namecall each other over disagreements and can all go to the same places and drink together, as an actual society, instead of trying to segregate each person into the gender-politic spectrum.

thats the issue i have with gay and LGTB parades

you get this distinct feeling that the people in these parades, at least in my area, feel like they are a different human being altogether; as if being "gay" is Human + or something. they act superior, have weird costumes (hence my BDSM comment), and try to "convert" you to them.

they are also always flaboyantly that way. its not as bad in my area, per say, due to the blue collar neighborhood that'd beat the living shit out of you in a alleyway for being that way, but its worse in the city part of where i live, where the "gay" bars, "gay" areas, etc. all segregate and alienate anyone who isn't "gay" or "converted gay" (people i call that because they obviously aren't gay but have a mental illness of some sort and got converted to being a "gay" person as they are a easy target for the "cult of gay" as i call it. i feel really bad for these people as they need genuine mental health help but don't get it as they've been targeted by these predators in gay clothing)

this all might sound like i hate gays, but i don't. i hate militant gays and these psychopaths that turn mentally ill people into "gay" people through cult tactics as they are easy targets, the constant "us vs them" gays who create their own spaces (such as gay bars, gay parades, etc) to "recruit" people (see: "gay is good so be gay today" type speeches) and hating on anyone who isn't gay or some type of gay

these types of people that have been let to flourish in city communities are a cancer and a blot on society, and must be exterminated before their extremism hurts more people, but im just a normal citizen in a country that celebrates gays, immigrants, and is severely critical on anyone who points out any problems with these "protected groups" as i like to call it, so i know nothing will be done till these shit stains blow up a building or something close to that

why would you go to a gay bar if you're straight? Gay guys/gals go there to hit on each other. It's even worse if you're one of the straight guys in them who gets offended/shocked if they're hit on.

Why are gay bars bad? They're just a place where people feel okay to be themselves, they're not hurting you.

Gay people go to "straight" venues, and not everyone goes out to fuck. Sometimes people want to have a drink and chill.
The rest is fine, but that really sounded like you held a grudge against straight people going to an establishment, which I surely hope was just odd wording, because that would be... very hypocritical (and bigoted)

edit: Not defending what he said, to clarify (swagile that is)

No I hold a grudge against people who complain about gay bars when they are literally harmless. Equally, if you're going to a gay bar you should expect or atleast be prepared for gay people to hit on you -- after all, it's one of the very few places they can. There are regular bars by the thousand if you're not prepared to turn someone down.

Honestly, being against gay bars doesnt necessarily mean you're homophobic. To be perfectly honest, I think we'd be way better off if everything was mixed, all the time.

The reason you complain is the important bit, not the sole fact of complaining.

Context and motive is everything.

you didn't read what i wrote if thats what you think im upset about

im not upset about going to a gay bar and (obviously) being hit on

im more upset about the fact that, (again, in my area), you either get shit on for being straight or they try to convert you.

its basically turned into turf wars in my area; much like how gangs don't enter each others gangs or they get dunked on, its now "if your straight don't go to x gay area or else"

also what angel said, we let gay people go into straight areas all the time and tolerate them (as long as they aren't the category of people i said before; millitant gays that continue to act extremely flamboyant and cultish about it, then thats a different story)

You can come into the gay area but don't complain if there's a bunch of dudes kissing in the back. Can you elaborate what you mean by flamboyant? Stop acting as if it's hard to accept gay people with terms like "tolerate" -- you're not doing anyone a service, you're just not being a cunt

You can dislike extreme flamboyance, period. There are extremely flamboyant straight people.

I know plenty gay people who do not like extreme flamboyant.

Yh but why comment on it? It's still not hurting you, it's not like them being flamboyant causes you physical pain?
