unpopular opinion;
postpone the event by a day or two to wait a fix
saves bad mood
I'm not sure I can post-pone something that's ongoing

Even then, I'd be postponing it until the developer of the map fixes the issues that are present and I don't know how long that'll take considering they work at their own pace I would imagine

The timing out is somehow being caused by one of the resource packs but I can't for the life of me think why that would be the case

i missed the first part, what's the IC reasoning behind citizens ending up with rebels all of the sudden? did transport get sabotaged mid relocation or something i need a lowdown my guys

Basically everyone got transported to this area, the citizens were basically dumped in a ghost-town to fend for themselves while the union factions fix up the blacksite and relay.

jokes aside, from the things i experienced it was pretty neat, though the ghost concept is kinda c r i n g e

from what i've seen i like the fresh stuff, not the typical rehashed who you choose rebel v combine, cool concept

Day one so far has had virtually no rebel v cop conflict

Both sides did their own stuff and have very minor, non combat interactions.

only thing I really enjoyed in the event was the CP freedom. Everything else on the CP side of things was dull and uninteresting. What made it retarded were the ghosts and anomalies like wooo wooo spooky with really uninteresting facts about them. its meh so far

day 1 was a great day on my vort

ran around with dudes, exploring, taking damage from an imaginary fire, scared the shit out of a cp patrol by shooting a zombie near then

but one thing really made me shit myself

running around the burning dropship as i was searching for the other vortigaunts on my vort. I walk over the hill only to be face to face with about 12 cps. I turned and ran my ass off into whatever direction.

The anomaly stuff serves as a small window into the blacksite and its history; it's reminisicent of the playground scene in the city portion of hl2

And I'm sorry you found it dull and uninteresting - it's hard to give all sides and all factions interesting tasks to do all at once. That's why I had the idea of having them all collectively work on one big task in the event

I don't think exploring the sci-fi side of the setting is at all dull and boring, imo.

What makes boring events is when you try to do a totally-grounded one which devolves into, as @nexus said, cops vs rebels 9/10. Most of the best events of CW involved exploring far more esoteric and weird things than this.

I played CP.


It was fun throughout. We established ourselves and shot NPCs. Cooperating with Union factions was great. Getting a lay of the land was ok. Just the general feel of the place is a nice change of pace. For a first day, it's not too bad and I don't see how it could've been better in any significant way.

The only thing I wish is that we got to do occasional S2RP with player xenians instead of mindlessly gunning down NPCs the whole time.

I think the ghost shit has come off uninteresting purely because not much has been done with them yet. I'm sure there's plenty of history left unexplored that's being reserved for later days.
