I'd like to change my previous monstrosity to this monstrosity


This is probably a bit late 2 ask, but how da fok did you get the anims to be so smooth? I like it, looks really good and I suck at it myself tho I wanna try. Been looking at the valve tutorials but I just can't seem to figure it out

IK rig + the techique of going through many points, instead of straight line

Arm goes from point A to B to C to D to E, and then slightly to F, instead of just A to B

Not really, an animation like Ace did can be done in 10-20 minutes I guess
I just thought animating is like.. where you have to do 104920492 poses instead of just one, and then link them together, where I normally take like 1-2 hours just to get 1 pose right for my SFM screenshots o.O

(Just a new Gmod pose I created today, took me around 10-15 minutes, just looking for feed back really)
Nice pose, composition is nice and all, especially as there's so much crisp focus on the CP, buuuuuut
It's so dark man. Like, I can't tell where the arms actually end its so dark. The pistol looks like it's floating. I'd light that up a bit, add some scene build props there like a trash can or something. Then in the lighted area add something to look at, adds more depth than just the edges of walls. IMO.

Also.

Default walking pose for CP?
We all knew.

Unless it's just so dark and looks very much the same as the default walking for a CP, idk

  • It's really dark
  • Light up darkened areas, add some stuff behind the CP for more depth >>> Can add atmosphere too
  • Don't use default poses11!!!!

the contrast is extremely high

high contrast -can- look ok in very bright scenes as it can bring out details but most of the time it makes the picture look awful

I'd get some three point lighting and probably a bit more of a heroic pose.
If you're still using Gmod then use the poser tool, as for three point lighting try your best. idk how good the lighting is in Gmod.

If you get some rim lighting on the CP he will stand out a lot more from all the darkness, and then you can keep the high contrast :wink:

Maybe also move the CP a bit more to the left as part of the rule of thirds. It's good to follow all those rules when you make poses, just for the love of god don't use r34

E: Why do I feel like we're all taking Lemon Cuntcake's position right now? :eek:
