Over a decade since they've done anything with their most iconic franchise and they decide to release a new game as a VR-only title, alienating a good majority of their fanbase by locking it behind a bare minimum $1000 paywall for the equipment you need just to play the darn thing

I expected this ever since I saw the development of Boneworks. I had assumed that it was going to be the foundation that the next Half-Life title was going to be build on, and presumed the next Half-Life would be VR. It makes sense because every HL that drops is intended to define the next generation of gaming, and frankly, I believe this is a contender. I have to worry about future proof my next desktop before even thinking of buying the Valve Index, let alone HL VR, but it will be certainly worth it when I do.
