i miss the metro and im not joking

feels weird to go from 3 warfront-esque maps where the rebels are pretty 50/50 to the combine

to then go back to pretty standard CityRP but with the character ratios all fucked up to where citizens are in the vast minority compared to rebels and cps

Tbh one thing I will say is this is a pretty big shift in gears for an experiment so I'd give it a little while to settle down, just like how Depot kinda started out rocky too then everything fell into place.

Tbh one thing I will say is this is a pretty big shift in gears for an experiment so I'd give it a little while to settle down, just like how Depot kinda started out rocky too then everything fell into place.

imo the issue is the difference in mindsets

think of it from the rebels perspective, they just went through multiple maps where they could, if they persisted, force the combine to disengage and back off, allowing them a victory

and now we're back to infinitely respawning ota sweeps that actively punish you for persisting

yeah i imagine it would be jarring

As with every other map, enjoy it while it's pristine, we'll have wrecked this place in a month or two.

Tbf Numbers did say that this was an attempt to slow things down a little because people were getting vocally bored of the constant S2K 24/7 on the last two maps.

So yeah, there's gotta be things in place to get people to go "okay, simmer for a bit lads". You won't always get that right straight away.

I believe it's only temporary until the city turns into an active warzone, where cops and ota are forced back into a deployment zone

like it is a siege, this isn't open conflict (Unlike other maps). Personally I would love to see more obvious effects of the siege such as Artillery, rockets, because it feels too calm imo

personally i would've just hard-enforced s2rp if people were getting bored of s2k

if people were getting bored of s2k it wasn't conflict that was boring them, it was that conflicts were abruptly a matter of OOC skill rather than anything driven by story

P much.

Don't get me wrong the S2K firefight today was absolutely baller but S2RP does allow for a wider range of creative thought and decision that isn't entirely based on ooc skill.

my soul would shatter thinking about the poor server admin having to manage s2rp of that scale.

i am a firm believer that a robust mechanical rolling system is key to a S2RP system if'n you cannot trust the participants to P2L

D&D type rolling system would be pretty awesome ngl

i'd make a bonafide suggestion for it but it'd involve scrapping the entire stats mechanic, revamping /roll, etc

i don't think there's enough coders to do it, even if it was unanimously wanted

Memes aside, what did people think of WN Turn based combat, if you ever got to try it?
i never experienced it as more than a bystander but the concept is kind of funny to me

i have no positive nor negative thoughts about it though

i would like to see more rebel v cop s2rp events (with actual cops, not just props)

and fyi, not massive s2rp fights, i just mean more smaller scale confronations where either side doesnt have to worry about being rushed suddenly and theres more opportunity for character dev beyond "oh yeah i totally made it out of the firefight alive anyway wheres my gun at"
