server isnt all that fun atm,

been trying to run a passive focused group whos neutral (trying to trade food and drink and cattle between rebels and cops)

everyday is just another xen infestation of the farm event or cops coming by and s2king us (twice today) and our group is unarmed besides melee so we just kinda hide and they run in the houses and massacre us all

server feels more like tdm combine vs rebels gamemode and not much else

all the roleplay is catered to either being military on eitheer side and seems like people trying to be in the middle are an afterthought

idk, ill prob wait for the next map to see if it gets better

The idea of minimizing risk and increasing damage potential is alluring

Balancing neutral groups is hard, especially when we're only a week into things.

People are naturally still riding the high of going out daily and shooting eachother up; I'm sure the staff team are working on steadily dialing things back, introducing more of the story, ect.

there's a few other cabins dotted around the map, one near the lake and one somewhere in the forest past the river, you'll be less likely to encounter combat there

i think they were used for events but those are over so you could prob take them over now

The Order went out today to try to RP with the rebs as I've seen a few complaints about the lack of RP between the two factions. At first, it was nice, meeting ranchers and exchanging words, preaching, gifting them synth oils. Then we started getting sniped from the city, so we held our own, called for reinforcements, and the ranchers did the same. We eventually hauled ass after not finding the sniper, ripcorded with our backup, and had a small debate back at camp whether or not to award the ranchers an honorary title of 'clamp-ed.'

Apparently they were all shot and killed.

Then, mustering another PT to look for a roleplay encounter with rebels, we march forth near the satellite, find a Vortigaunt, and exclaim that we come in peace. The plan was to see if the character might be able to share his wisdom with us, enlighten us on the Vortessence. Instead, we were led into an ambush, still while yelling our intentions, and then shot and killed. I was the only one who made it out of there. I was performing, trying to /mel adjusting my vocoder to the audacity of a megaphone, so that I could tell them we had no intentions of harming them.

I know this can't be resolved by administration, but I would prefer that we lean into those guidelines that advise we look first for RP encounters and second for S2K.

In light of other events things have been going way better since my last post

Found a lambda crate and got some basic gear out of it that helped me get started, just wished they would re-supply a bit more often. I've started meeting actual characters (mostly just bluesuits and new arrivals but its great fun), tried interacting with some of the ranchers before they got shot up but they turned me away, kinda odd in the moment cause they were asking for help a day or two ago but reading all the shit that's happened I understand why they'd be weary of anyone with a gun lmao

Scouting is great fun, you meet a bunch of other people and i feel like that's where most of your opportunities for RP lie

Don't consider myself a leader and don't really wanna join/create a group so I'm hoping rebels get more organized to a point where they can actively work on plans, until then I'm probably gonna do as much as I can on my own


just a general tip if you wanna have fun stay out of the rebel base unless you really need something like gear, food, medicine or shelter. Very rarely is there much to do around there except sit AFK
