we also literally gave you guys an infinite stationary (never destroyed) grenade launcher to kill the strider, strider told me he wants to die to it, but nobody used it on the synth

it's icly the same one that alyx uses to kill a strider in HLA
Strider was S2king the door; through smoke. The moment anyone peaked they were deleted.

Then we had OTA on the left AND the right, mixed in with cops. Assuming you even made it up there; you'd just be yeeted from the back as no one could make it out to cover you.

EDIT: Then there was the fun of rockets being fired in anytime the doors opened, saw about 5 rebels get yeeted from that alone

honestly i think when this map's over there needs to be a bit of revamping and refining on the handling of the server, especially since it seems to want to be very combat-focused but the combat itself is jank, unbalanced, and after basically any conflict someone is OOCly butthurt, even the winning side of certain engagements

I think people still get mixed feelings about Striders.
As in, they can't tell if the Strider is supposed to be an obstacle to be removed, or an obstacle to run away from. To me, it feels like it makes people hesitate.
"Are we supposed to deal with this, or is this admins telling us to fuck off so everybody can relax and get some RP done instead of all this s2k?"

I think people still get mixed feelings about Striders.
As in, they can't tell if the Strider is supposed to be an obstacle to be removed, or an obstacle to run away from. To me, it feels like it makes people hesitate.

I still see striders as S2M tools to restrict/move the flow of groups, using it as a fully S2K tool is impossible to play against

honestly not sure if a week is enough

right now i think the main priority needs to be readjusting the server's goals in regards to what it is primarily providing the player, because at the moment i get the feeling that S2K is not a means to an end, but is in fact the entire end itself
which goes against the drawing factor of the server predominantly being a serious, slow-paced, textRP server

IMO if people wanted constant hectic shootouts they should just wait for the GTARP to drop where they don't have to stand dead still to talk and can actually do things like take cover and participate in firefights that aren't budget DOOM multiplayer

additionally, i dont see high playercount as indicative of server health, especially with how the server's currently set up

I'm sure there's a good few players who are coming on out of a sense of obligation because they feel they need to help out in the massive S2K engagements

basically, the server's giving people daily quests that they need to log in for in the form of constant pitched battles

and then when all the fighting's done their brain is fried, they're not in the mood to RP, so they go play other games for a while, causing a dip in the player count

im seeing these complaints all the time, only they've come to a head tonight because its just been absolutely ridiculouse

God, ain't that the truth. Especially as a vortigaunt, I feel obliged to help out whenever I can, because we're lucky to have four greenies present at the same time - and that number quickly plummets right around UK midnight time.

we'll prolly make some adjustments to the outpost cover wise, too many entries to cover makes it difficult to defend

as for synth killing equipment, i agree we need to find a way to access gravgun easier w/o dependency of specific chars (either that or we restrict s2k synth deployments unless those people are on)

don't fool yourselves, the sheer amount of s2k rn is just here to simulate what it's like to be in a city lg orbifold head for the horse!!!!! siege (gmod style)

i will have to say tho, im disappointed how the rebel rpg was used

we gave everyone the decision on how to distribute it ((a synth killing weapon)), so far only 1 rocket has actually been used smartly, rest were a complete waste

Was there only one RPG given out? And how was it decided on who gets it?
