I once said that 'Everyone is the main character in their own story' and that characters on RP servers share traits similar to 'Main characters' being able to quickly bandage a wound and ignore the pain. People for some reason twisted that into me thinking my character was more important than everyone else.

I argued that it was strange that the military would go out of their way to headhunt a single 'lucid' mutant with a city full of bigger and badders ferals trying who were actively trying to kill them. I wasn't surprised that people wanted to kill my mutant, I just wanted to create RP and IC drama by doing it.

Somehow people can't separate IC and OOC intentions, just because a character does something stupid doesn't mean the player isn't aware of it being stupid.

Think whatever you want, but that's always what I meant.

Frankly I'm surprised that the FTRP staff is coming out of the woodwork just to bicker, you'd think they would be busy working on the Frundtech Cinematic Universe.
Ok generic blue haired soft spoken lesbian warrior please tell me more

The entire community's dead by now, it didn't last long after the FTRP server was shut down. From the community's steam group page:
FrundTech Community was a community revived in July 2017, having previously hosting our flagship server of the same namesake as of May 2018: FrundTech Roleplay, which has since been shut down. We closed down our other mediums such as Discord as well as our forums towards the end of June 2018.

A big thanks to those who played with us and we hope to see you in future projects!

On the topic of mutants:

I don't remember if it was on Neb or LP now but I recall the massive uproar when the then-mutant lead tried to deny someone an utterly broken power of manipulating space to make black holes and got dog-piled on to allowed it. The lead then got forced to quit because they didn't let it through, the power got allowed and sure enough was misused/broken and caused a bunch of shit within a week.

Mutants never seemed like mutants so much as literal superheroes whichever way it got sliced, bar a few I can think of which mostly got played for laughs.

I didn't want to name any names >:c

But yeah, I remember the lead got ousted over it because they didn't want to approve it as it went above and beyond what the power-scaling for mutants was at the time and what guidelines had been set.

It was dumb.

Where did all this take place? I can't remember this stuff being brought up in the FTRP subforums for the life of me.

This actually brings up the thing that pissed me off the most - the Milrem situation. They started off as a solid backbone and a really good way to keep things flowing and ordered, even if it was clearly ICly sketchy.

Then people complained until they got handicapped and everyone lost interest, they all died or quit and then the town became a lawless shithole where you got mugged five mins after spawning in as a new character and no other group could step up to take those reigns for ironically the exact same reasons as a certain other group of individuals in another setting...

Instead of a gradual fall of the Milrem from good guys to bad the change happened - or was forced - in under a month and it was shit.

What I don't get is why mutants need to all be different with whacky and bizarre powers

If you ask me, I'd just make all of the mutants have the same basic powers, and some can have variations and some differences without needing to go full incredibles on it

I always wanted the muties to be unholy abominations like Left 4 Dead special infected, with their powers coming from terrible physical deformations, like a guy with super strenght having his muscles ripping through his skin or someone with telepathic powers having a big ass brain crushing his eyes out and deforming his spine which I actually did and he also had a special model from the Stalker pack that was completely unused (no, not the controller unfortunatly, that wasn't in that particular pack) but people got envy of my ragged hazmat suit with no icly and scripted advantaged so I got turned into a random dude and so I got pissed off and had it pked çnç

If one can see another person definitely being a mutant, said mutant can thus be lynched without mercy. That's simply it.

Or maybe not, that could lead to some interesting rp, instead of them just being normal survivors that pulls out a superpower when they need it or when they just wanna kill some hapless dude for "character development".

That also sounds dumb as fuck lmao
What they're not telling you is how Los Chicos Blancos was a Mexican drug cartel, and that national guard remnants allying with them is possibly one of the dumbest things in the world since the Molotov-Rippentrop pact (we only ever had beef with the LCB, never once attacked Milrems). The fruits of this alliance came to the Milrems letting the LCB massacre a bunch of civilians in the town (inc. one unarmed ALF guy @Remen, who recorded the bullshit) without any repercussions. I'm sure this is what you expect from the lawmakers of the town to sort out beef between two player-made groups (allying with one to try and destroy the other).

This led to us being effectively kicked us out of the town, as they burned down our base and killed innocents (claiming they were all ALF) because we were a threatening presence to their amazing roleplay. By that I mean we base-attacked LCB once with some random civs and had tension going between Milrems because they threatened to kill us if we didn't speak to their leader once (all because we asked them some days before to speak to him, so they think breaking into our base and forcing us to all come along, with the threat of death if we don't, is a great idea for a stable relationship).

This proceeded totally as they had planned, as it got to the point where half the server was congregating at the new ALF base outside of town because we provided a place for civs to roleplay and interact with others in a closed environment. I mean, I'm sure civs totally loved to go near the Milrem church base they couldn't enter or that alley base LCB got teleported to at spawn, which they barely used because they were never on after 2 weeks of the server launch (we didn't even get that privilege, we had to actually go out and find a location to set up on foot with our single auth'd SMG and pistol, instead of requesting a teleport for the entire group).

@rapidjuice initially wasn't part of our group, but we got in contact with him ICly and we did errands for his character, getting to keep whatever we find along the way -- this being literally the only way to progress our gear as there was no crafting system and limited loot drops (as the person who got that auth'd SMG, I couldn't even end up replacing it due to the limited amount of firearms we got). @ecchikawaii was PK'd in one engagement with the LCB before the town was overrun by zombies, so we were leaderless for a while until @rapidjuice began leading -- he did some expeditions for the civs taking refuge at our base and a few more for the ALF core.

The peace treaty, I admit, did seem a bit stupid considering how we rejected it entirely because of one Milrem-turned-ALF rogue that was exiled from the town (the entire reason for the rejection was based on principle); however, I must say that the entire process did seem forced and partially an attempt to get all those civs to come back to the town (hence leading to the eventual burning down of the new ALF base in an event, forcing us to go move somewhere else just outside of town where people still followed until the map change).

All of our beef was with the LCB as we considered them rivals, having opposing viewpoints and all. Of course, this means that the local national guard remnants has to team up with them and kick us out as we happened to look at them funny one time (I don't think we ever killed or attacked even a single Milrem during the server's uptime). All while ex-admins claim we were AFK half the time, as if nobody else was (as they only thing that ran the server was events done by admins), and LCB claim we have the amazing holy admin bias of just @rapidjuice because he gave us some items in PK-risk expeditions (some of which got replaced like the shotgun with a fucking peashooter of a rifle that couldn't kill somebody in 100 hits and led to @ecchikawaii dying to two NPCs spawned behind his back that would take 20 shots from an ordinary gun anyway).

Totally the ALF's fault that the server began to die, am I right, even though all we did was attack the LCB. Definitely not the on-a-rails adventure that relied on admins creating their own events for players to enjoy once or twice a day, the inability for players to do things by themselves (they have to be in a group or have admin supervision) or the botched map change to a map that was way too open and devoid of any meaningful place to act as a centre for players to interact with eachother.
