The brutality of TPG's shorts is absolutely insane and it is something we have never seen, nor will we see again from anyone else
I understand the feelings of people who don't like such brutality and have a trigger to it, and i fully understand it, but man, I can say I have seen some graphic stuff, and this makes me feel the exact same way.
You, as a rebel, in a realistic scenario are an actual underdog - You will die if you are not careful, and it shows that they planned for the ambush on them with the mine, but did not expect the Spikewall to be there, and because of such most died. It's extremely brutal, and it is as close as we will get to a real life type depiction of an engagement. I love it, because it makes me queasy and it makes me cringe.
It's why I loved All Quiet on the Western Front. It made you feel like shit seeing people die like that, and it was the intended message - That war is brutal. Here it is simply: Resisting comes with a heavy risk, yet there's people that do it. They will be brutally murdered, they know it, and yet they fight for freedom
